Description
These chewy and delightful cookies are the perfect treat for Valentine’s Day! Packed with Oreos and festive M&M’s, they offer a soft, buttery texture with just the right amount of crunch.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup butter, slightly softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 & ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ⅔ cup Valentine’s Day M&M’s
- 7 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped (regular stuffed, not double stuffed)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Cream the Butter and Sugars
- In a medium-sized bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy. You can do this using a spatula or hand mixer.
- Mix Wet Ingredients
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Stir until everything is smooth and fully incorporated.
- Combine Dry Ingredients
- Gradually add the flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt into the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined, taking care not to overmix.
- Fold in the Mix-ins
- Gently fold in the M&M’s and chopped Oreos.
- Portion the Dough
- Using a large cookie scoop (approximately ¼ cup or 4 tablespoons per cookie), divide the dough into 10 equal portions. Roll them into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.
- Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 13 minutes. The cookies may look underdone and slightly gooey in the middle—this is perfect, as they will continue to set while cooling.
- Shape and Cool
- Immediately after removing the cookies from the oven, use a large round cookie cutter to gently swirl around the edges of each cookie to create a perfectly round shape.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
