Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Meatballs:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
- Tear the bread into small pieces and mix with water in a bowl. Let sit for a few minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and soaked bread. Mix gently—don’t overwork the meat!
- Shape into 1.5-2” meatballs (about 20 pieces) and place on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the largest meatball reaches 160°F internally.
- Remove from the oven and set aside.
2️⃣ Make the Creamy Sauce:
- In a large measuring cup, whisk together beef broth, cream, Worcestershire sauce, cornstarch, garlic, parsley, salt, thyme, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Pour into a large skillet over medium heat and bring to a simmer, stirring frequently for 5 minutes until thickened.
3️⃣ Combine & Serve:
- Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
