Ingredients

✅ 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
✅ 3 Tbsp Unsalted Butter (cold, divided)
✅ 16 oz White Button Mushrooms (rinsed & dried)
✅ 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
✅ ½ tsp Dried Thyme
✅ 2 cups Beef Broth
✅ 1 ½ tsp Worcestershire Sauce
✅ 1 tsp Onion Powder
✅ 2-3 drops Kitchen Bouquet (optional)
✅ 3 Tbsp Cornstarch
✅ ¼ cup Cold Water
✅ ¼ cup Cream (or Half & Half)


Instructions

1️⃣ Heat olive oil and 2 Tbsp butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
2️⃣ Add mushrooms and cook for about 6 minutes until golden. Stir in garlic and thyme and cook for 1 more minute.
3️⃣ Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and Kitchen Bouquet (if using). Stir well.
4️⃣ Mix cornstarch and cold water in a small bowl, then whisk into the gravy. Bring to a boil for about 30 seconds.
5️⃣ Reduce heat to low. Stir in cream and let it simmer until it reaches your desired consistency.
6️⃣ Remove from heat and swirl in 1 Tbsp cold butter for a velvety finish.

Notes

✔️ Mushrooms cook down a lot, so don’t worry if 16 oz seems like too much!
✔️ Add a splash of wine (red or white) with the garlic and thyme for extra depth of flavor.
✔️ Try mixing chicken and beef broth or adding pan drippings for even richer gravy.
