Ingredients
✔️ 200g (1 cup) sourdough discard (stirred & unfed)
✔️ 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
✔️ ¼ tsp fine sea salt
✔️ 1 cup (60g) finely shredded medium cheddar cheese (loosely packed)
✔️ Optional Seasonings: Flaky sea salt, everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Mix the batter: Melt butter and let it cool slightly. Stir in sourdough discard & salt, then mix in shredded cheese until fully combined.
3️⃣ Spread thinly: Pour mixture onto the parchment paper and spread it into a thin, even layer (almost transparent). (Aim for ~11×14 inches.)
4️⃣ Season: Lightly sprinkle with flaky sea salt or other seasonings.
5️⃣ Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and score into squares with a pizza cutter. (Optional: Poke a hole in the center for a classic look!)
6️⃣ Bake another 20 minutes or until golden and crispy. If crackers aren’t firm, continue baking until they harden when tapped.
7️⃣ Cool completely on the baking sheet to let them fully dry out. Store in an airtight container.
