Ingredients
For the Chicken:
✅ 1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
✅ 2 eggs, beaten
✅ Salt & pepper, to taste
✅ ½ cup all-purpose flour
✅ ½ cup cornstarch
✅ Oil for frying
For the Sauce:
✅ 1 tsp vegetable oil
✅ 1 tsp fresh garlic, minced
✅ ¼ cup honey
✅ ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
✅ 2 tbsp ketchup
✅ 3 tbsp brown sugar
✅ 2 tbsp rice vinegar
✅ 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
✅ 2 tsp cornstarch
✅ 2 tbsp sesame seeds
✅ 2 tbsp sliced green onions
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Chicken:
- In a bowl, mix eggs, salt, and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour and cornstarch.
- Dip each piece of chicken into the egg mixture, then coat in the flour mixture.
2️⃣ Fry Until Golden:
- Heat 3 inches of oil in a deep pan to 350°F.
- Fry chicken in batches for 5 minutes or until crispy and golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
3️⃣ Make the Sesame Sauce:
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch.
- Heat 1 tsp vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Pour in the honey sauce mixture, bring to a simmer, and cook for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
4️⃣ Toss & Serve:
- Add crispy chicken to the pan and toss until fully coated in sauce.
