Description

There’s nothing like the sweet-tart flavor of homemade cranberry sauce to complete a Thanksgiving feast. I remember my grandmother simmering cranberries on the stove, filling the house with that cozy, festive aroma. This simple, 3-ingredient recipe is easy to make and tastes so much better than store-bought! Whether you sweeten it with sugar, honey, or maple syrup, it’s the perfect complement to your holiday turkey. Give it a try, and let the flavors of the season shine!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or ¾ cup honey/maple syrup)
  • ¾ cup water (filtered if possible)
  • 12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries

Instructions

1️⃣ In a saucepan over medium heat, stir together sugar (or honey/maple syrup) and water until dissolved.
2️⃣ Add cranberries and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
3️⃣ Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Let cool before serving.

Optional Add-ins for extra flavor:

  • 2 wide strips of orange zest + ¼ cup orange juice
  • 2 wide strips of lemon zest + 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup dried cherries
  • ½ cinnamon stick
