Homemade Air Fryer French Fries,

Crispy Air Fryer French Fries 🍟✨

  • Author: therecipemingle

Description

Nothing beats the taste of fresh, crispy homemade french fries—especially when they’re made healthier in the air fryer! I still remember the sizzle of the deep fryer at home, but now, I get that same golden crunch with a fraction of the oil. These fries are perfectly crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and ridiculously easy to make. Once you try them, you won’t go back to fast food!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium Russet potatoes (about lbs)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • ½ tsp salt (plus more to taste)

Instructions

1. Prep the Potatoes

  • Wash and scrub potatoes well, then cut into ¼-inch thick fries.
  • Soak in water for 30 minutes to remove starch (this makes them extra crispy!).
  • Rinse under cold water until clear, then dry thoroughly with a towel.

2. First Fry (350°F)

  • Preheat air fryer to 350°F. Toss fries in 1 tbsp oil.
  • Cook for 15 minutes, shaking halfway. They should be soft and lightly browned.

3. Second Fry (400°F)

  • Remove fries, toss in remaining 2 tbsp oil and ½ tsp salt.
  • Increase air fryer temperature to 400°F.
  • Fry for 10-15 more minutes, shaking every 5 minutes, until golden and crispy.

4. Serve & Enjoy

  • Drain on paper towels, sprinkle with extra salt, and serve hot!
