French Toast Casserole: Your New Favorite Morning Magic

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread or Texas toast

  • 8 eggs

  • 2 cups half and half

  • ½ cup milk

  • 3 tbsp sugar

  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp nutmeg

  • ½ tsp salt

Cinnamon Crunch Topping:

  • sticks butter, softened

  • 1 cup light brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp light corn syrup (optional)

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp nutmeg


Instructions

  • Butter a 9×13″ baking dish. Slice bread and layer it in rows.

  • Whisk eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Pour over the bread, making sure every slice is coated. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

  • The next morning, flip each slice for even coating.

  • Mix topping ingredients and spread over the bread like frosting.

  • Bake uncovered at 350°F for 35–40 mins until golden and puffed.
