Description

There’s nothing better than biting into a warm, fluffy bun filled with gooey, melted cheese! These Baked Cheese Buns are easy to make and perfect for breakfast, snacks, or serving alongside soups and stews. Customize with your favorite cheeses and add a touch of herbs or spice for extra flavor!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups grated cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix)

Instructions

1️⃣ Activate the yeast: In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2️⃣ Make the dough: In a large bowl, combine flour & salt, then add yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until dough forms.

3️⃣ Knead the dough: On a floured surface, knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth & elastic.

4️⃣ Let it rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour until doubled.

5️⃣ Stuff with cheese: Divide dough into 12 pieces, flatten, add 1 tbsp grated cheese, then seal into a bun shape.

6️⃣ Second rise: Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.

7️⃣ Bake to perfection: Brush with milk or beaten egg, then bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

8️⃣ Enjoy warm! Let cool slightly before biting into that cheesy goodness.

Notes

✔️ Mix in rosemary, thyme, or garlic powder for extra flavor!
