Ingredients
For the poppers:
✅ ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
✅ ½ tsp black pepper
✅ 1 large egg
✅ ½ tsp kosher salt
✅ 2 tbsp water
✅ ⅔ cup panko breadcrumbs
✅ 1 (11 oz.) log soft goat cheese
For frying:
✅ 2 cups oil (grapeseed, canola, or vegetable)
Instructions
1️⃣ In a medium bowl, mix flour and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk egg, salt, and 2 tbsp water. Place panko breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.
2️⃣ Roll goat cheese into 24 (1-tablespoon) balls. Coat each in flour, then egg, then panko, ensuring even coverage.
3️⃣ Freeze for 20 minutes, or until firm.
4️⃣ Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep saucepan.
5️⃣ Fry the goat cheese balls in batches for 1-2 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.
6️⃣ Arrange on a platter, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle with fresh chives. Serve immediately and enjoy! 😍
