Chocolate Cream Pie – Pure Bliss in Every Bite!

Ingredients

• 1 (9-inch) pie crust, store-bought or homemade
• 3 tbsp unsalted butter
• 1¼ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
• ¾ cup sugar
• 3 tbsp cornstarch
• ¼ tsp salt
• 2 tbsp cocoa powder
• 2 cups milk
• 3 egg yolks, beaten
• 1 tsp vanilla extract

Topping:
• 1 cup heavy whipping cream
• ¼ cup powdered sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• Chocolate curls (optional)


Instructions

  • Bake and cool the pie crust.

  • In a bowl, add butter and chocolate chips. Set aside.

  • In a saucepan, whisk sugar, cornstarch, cocoa, and salt. Slowly add milk and stir.

  • Simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened (1 min).

  • Temper egg yolks with hot custard, then mix back into the pot.

  • Simmer 1 more minute, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

  • Strain custard over chocolate and butter. Stir until smooth.

  • Cool custard, then pour into crust. Chill 4 hours or overnight.

  • Whip cream with vanilla and powdered sugar. Spread over chilled pie. Garnish with chocolate curls
