Ingredients
• 1 (9-inch) pie crust, store-bought or homemade
• 3 tbsp unsalted butter
• 1¼ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
• ¾ cup sugar
• 3 tbsp cornstarch
• ¼ tsp salt
• 2 tbsp cocoa powder
• 2 cups milk
• 3 egg yolks, beaten
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping:
• 1 cup heavy whipping cream
• ¼ cup powdered sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• Chocolate curls (optional)
Instructions

Bake and cool the pie crust.

In a bowl, add butter and chocolate chips. Set aside.

In a saucepan, whisk sugar, cornstarch, cocoa, and salt. Slowly add milk and stir.

Simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened (1 min).

Temper egg yolks with hot custard, then mix back into the pot.

Simmer 1 more minute, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

Strain custard over chocolate and butter. Stir until smooth.

Cool custard, then pour into crust. Chill 4 hours or overnight.

Whip cream with vanilla and powdered sugar. Spread over chilled pie. Garnish with chocolate curls
