Classic Chipless Cookie Recipe:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1 cup of nuts or dried fruit

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  5. If desired, fold in nuts or dried fruit.
  6. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
