Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 1 ¼ cups warm whole milk
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast

- 2 eggs, whisked

- ½ cup softened unsalted butter
For the Chai Caramel Sauce:
- ⅓ cup heavy cream + 2 chai tea bags
- ½ cup softened unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 ½ tsp cinnamon, ¾ tsp ginger, ¼ tsp allspice, ¼ tsp nutmeg, ¾ tsp cardamom, ⅛ tsp cloves
- ⅓ cup honey
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
For the Chai Filling:
- ½ cup softened unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon, 1 ½ tsp ginger, ½ tsp allspice, ½ tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp cardamom, ¼ tsp cloves
- ¼ tsp salt
For the Chai Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 6 tbsp softened unsalted butter
- 6 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp cinnamon, ¼ tsp ginger, ⅛ tsp allspice, ⅛ tsp nutmeg, ¼ tsp cardamom, pinch of cloves
Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Dough: Bloom the yeast in warm milk with sugar. Mix the dry ingredients in a stand mixer, then add eggs, vanilla, and butter. Add the yeast mixture and knead for 7-10 minutes until smooth. Let rise for 1-1½ hours until doubled in size.
2️⃣ Prepare the Chai Caramel Sauce: Steep the chai tea bags in warm cream. Mix butter, sugar, spices, honey, vanilla, and salt. Stir in the chai-infused cream. Spread in a greased 9×13-inch pan.
3️⃣ Make the Chai Filling: Mix butter, brown sugar, spices, and salt.
4️⃣ Assemble & Bake: Roll out the dough into an 18×12-inch rectangle. Spread the filling evenly, roll it up tightly, and cut into 12 rolls. Place over the caramel sauce, pour heavy cream between the rolls, and let rise for another hour.
5️⃣ Bake at 350°F for 29-32 minutes until golden brown.
6️⃣ Make the Frosting: Beat butter and cream cheese until fluffy. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and spices.
