Ingredients
Shrimp:
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
- ½ cup buttermilk
- ½ cup cornstarch
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- ½ tsp paprika
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Bang Bang Sauce:
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust for spice level)
- 1 tsp honey or sugar (optional)
Tacos:
- 8 small tortillas (flour or corn)
- 1 cup shredded cabbage or lettuce
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
- ¼ cup thinly sliced green onions
- Lime wedges (for serving)
Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Shrimp: Soak shrimp in buttermilk for 10 minutes. Mix cornstarch, salt, pepper, and paprika in a separate bowl.
2️⃣ Fry the Shrimp: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Coat shrimp in the cornstarch mixture and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
3️⃣ Make the Sauce: Whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey (if using). Toss the fried shrimp in the sauce until fully coated.
4️⃣ Assemble the Tacos: Warm tortillas, add shredded cabbage or lettuce, top with bang bang shrimp, and sprinkle with cilantro and green onions. Serve with lime wedges for a zesty kick!
