22 Irresistible Valentine’s Day Cookies for Sweet, Romantic Moments
Ingredients:
- 3 cups flour
- ¾ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp milk
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Food coloring (optional)
- Large heart sprinkles (optional)
- White cookie frosting
- Chocolate writing frosting in a piping bag
Instructions:
- Prepare Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- Mix Wet Ingredients:
- In a mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Stir in the egg and milk until combined.
- Combine & Form Dough:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until the dough pulls away from the edges of the bowl.
- Transfer the dough to a clean workspace dusted with powdered sugar. Knead in a drop or two of food coloring for a colorful twist, if desired.
- Chill Dough:
- Shape the dough into a log, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat & Prep:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Slice & Bake:
- Slice the chilled dough into ¼-⅓ inch thick cookies. Place on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them slightly apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges turn lightly golden.
- Transfer cookies to a cooling rack and let them cool completely.
- Decorate & Personalize:
- Once cooled, decorate with white cookie frosting and top with sprinkles if desired.
- Use chocolate writing frosting to add personalized messages to each cookie. Allow cookies to set before wrapping or storing.
